So now that i have had a business in indonisian handicraft for the last four years now , Let me tell you about that. Once i had purchased the business, the first thing to do was get some new product on the shelves, Now as i had no idea where the product was coming from , My self my sister and the lady who sold me the company went on a mission to bali to find more new and exciting stuff for me to start my position of owner opereator. After a long two flights and a quick stop over in japan , there we were in bali one of the islands that makes up indonisia.

The first thing i noticed was the smell, I had never smelt anygthing like it before. It was a smell of insence and ocean combined with tropical food smell and the sea air,. it was also very hot ant ten o'clock at night, I had never experianced anything like it. after a short taxi ride we all got dropped at our hotel, a quiet palce , yet absolutley beautfull. it was nice tiled floors through out the hotel , Palm tree's all over the property , along with little cats everywhere. It had a small swiming pool and hotel restraunt which was located at the back of the property under thatched roof gazebo. So we had the quick tour of the hotel and headed to bed to get good night sleep for the busy day that lay ahead.

The next morning when i woke up the sun was already shinning and it was 20 degree's at only eight o'clock am. We went for breakfast in the gazebo and were greated by some friendly balanese hotel worker's. fresh fruit and omeletts were on the menu Mmmmm!

We then set out for a long day's shopping in the streets around us. The first thing we we're looking for was some colourfull sarong's. You find in bali that there is an area for certain things, such as sarongs , you go to legian area , on double six rd there is a great selection , sarong's , clothes , jewllery and some wooden art. So we proceeded up double six rd for about 100 yards and had already seen about 10 shop's . my sister was in heavan , and , i would have to admit this was all very exciting for me also. It was time for a rest and a bite to eat , lunch was served at a wee small place just round the corner. We were greated with a smile, it was time to try some tropical food, I had balaneses style chicken , it was quite spicy , so i washed ir down with bin tang , Bali's local beer. at luch we discussed ssome of the other thing,s we would be lookinf for, Mask's , wind chimes, buddha, carved annimals, burled wood, hibiscuss wood, ceramics , terracotta, and many other things.

after lunch we continued our search for sarongs and jewllery on dsouble six st, and on a few other streets around the area. The day quickly came to a close,Well you loose track of time when your shoppinf after all. At six o'clock we decided to call it a day as we had been shopping for a full ten ours. The shops would stay open for another 4 hours yet, to make for casual evening shopping for those have perhaps been on the beach all day.

After my first full day of shopping in bali for indonesian handicraft, I was very tired , but was feeling very good about about my new business.
